The Streets Named after Hardcore Bad A$$es

We Don't name our streets after trees.  Oh no we name our streets after guys who take on death and tear a chunk out of the grim reapers rump just by staring back at him.  They called the most uninhabitable coldest regions on earth home sweet home.  They drink there coffee black, just one lump of sugar please, and maybe some nutmeg sprinkled on top.  The streets are named after Scandinavian explores, we called them Vikings a thousand years ago.

  

Nansen CT is name after Hardcore Bad A$$ Guy Number 1- Fridtjof Nansen 1861 - 1930 in Norway. Arctic Explorer, Scientist, Diplomat and Nobel Peace Prize Laureate, and on the side, a World Class Champion Skier.  This Bad A$$ under achiever invented the "Nansen Sledge" with broad ski-like runners; the "Nansen cooker" to improve the heat efficiency of the standard alcohol stoves then in use.  

  

For winter clothing, he replaced the traditionally heavy, awkward garments were replaced by layers of lightweight material. ( LL Bean, Northface, Patagonia, and Columbia thank you.) 

  

In science, Nansen is recognized as one of the founders of modern neurology, and significant contributor to early oceanographical science. What a slacker.
