What would Walt Disney Do?

This is a question that I wrote about in a blog post around ten years ago. Let's revisit this question.  What would Walt have done if he lived on Lake Drive in New City Park?

In the earlier post I concluded that he would have built a miniature railroad around the lake. The reason is he had one built at his home, and at both Disney World Parks.   How would he look at the lake, the clubhouse, beach, the surrounding community neighbors?

We can get some clues on how Disney World in Orlando Florida was conceived, developed, and operated.

If he was going to establish a summer community he would have liked the road from that started in Weehawken New Jersey; Kindercomack Road,  and finding a small dilapidated ice pond.  Surround by farmland, with high ground along the western side for building cabins.  The ice house would serve as  meeting house.  The need for a landmark so that visitors would know that this is the place.
How about a Lighthouse!   A beacon for all to see!

So far Disney would not have done anything different than Omley, Hall and Hansen.  Waterfront development with Diving Boards, Rafts, Lifeguard Chairs, Ropes for designated swimming, rope swings, a snack bar inside the ice house now called the clubhouse.

On the  lots on Park Terrace a ball field  and tennis court is built.  A place for worship and a farm stand is established.  So far he is on track with the founders.  Would there be anything different that he would have done?  Fairy tale characters along the pathway?  A floating island  in the middle of the lake with giant slides and tree houses. Or a small paddle wheel steamer plying the waters of the lake. It is fun too try and come up what Walt Disney would have done if he lived in New City Park. What do you think he would done?
